# Use a Robinhood explorer as a debugging aid

Correlate explorer records with RPC evidence on the same chain.

## An explorer is an indexed view

A block explorer is useful for locating transactions, logs, verified source and token metadata. It has its own index and presentation layer. If the interface has not indexed a recent transaction yet, that absence alone does not establish the transaction's outcome.

## Start from the official network guide

Robinhood lists `robinhoodchain.blockscout.com` for mainnet and `explorer.testnet.chain.robinhood.com` for testnet. Use those links from the official documentation rather than selecting an explorer by a similar domain name. Save the chain ID alongside each explorer URL in application configuration.

## Build a cross-check

```
{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"eth_getTransactionReceipt","params":["TRANSACTION_HASH"]}
```

1. Confirm eth\_chainId on the endpoint used for the cross-check.
2. Compare receipt blockHash and blockNumber with the explorer record.
3. Compare the exact log address and topics when debugging a token transfer.
4. For a contract, inspect deployed code and verified compiler metadata rather than trusting the displayed contract name alone.

## Record evidence that survives the interface

Store transaction hashes, chain ID, block hash and the fields your application relied on. An explorer label can change and a page can temporarily lag. If RPC and explorer disagree, distinguish a wrong-network link, indexing lag, a replaced chain view and a genuine provider issue. Give support the exact transaction and both observations; a screenshot of a token ticker is usually insufficient to identify the record.
