# Recover an EVM sender with a nonce gap

Find the first unresolved nonce before submitting more transactions from the same account.

## Why later transactions wait

An externally owned account sends transactions in nonce order. If nonce 12 is unresolved, a later transaction with nonce 13 cannot execute first. Sending many more transactions does not repair the missing predecessor. Multiple workers sharing one account commonly create this condition when each independently reads a nonce.

## Compare two nonce views

```
[{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":"included","method":"eth_getTransactionCount","params":["SENDER","latest"]},{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":"pending","method":"eth_getTransactionCount","params":["SENDER","pending"]}]
```

These values are observations from the endpoint. Pending visibility and replacement rules vary by client and network, particularly on sequencer chains. Use your durable submission journal to reconstruct which nonce each worker reserved.

## Repair the first unresolved operation

1. Stop allocating new nonces for that account while you reconcile its journal.
2. Identify the earliest nonce that has no included transaction and inspect its intended action.
3. If resubmission is appropriate, sign deliberately with that nonce and current network settings. Preserve the original operation identifier.
4. Wait for a receipt and inspect execution status before releasing later dependent operations.

## Prevent the next gap

Allocate nonces in one durable service or use a database transaction to reserve them. Save the signed transaction and hash before submission. A transport timeout leaves the submission outcome unknown, so reconcile before creating a different operation. On Robinhood Chain, do not assume Ethereum public-mempool tools or priority-auction behavior apply; consult the chain-specific submission documentation.
